Donnie Ray Yandell, 69, of Burleson, passed away Monday, Feb. 27, 2017.
Funeral services are 10:30 a.m., Thursday, March 2, 2017, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, with interment following at 1:15 p.m. at DFW National Cemetery. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2017, at the funeral home.
Donnie was born Dec. 30, 1947, in Weatherford, to Jack and Ethel (Green) Yandell. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Donnie loved fishing, listening to classic rock, swimming, old cars, and watching the Discovery Channel. He was known to be a clown and prankster. Donnie proudly served in the U.S. Army, where he received a Purple Heart in the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife of 48 years, Karen Yandell, of Burleson; daughters, Shelli Skipper and husband, Coy, of Aledo, Tianey Wallace and husband, Jamie, of Fort Worth; grandsons, Brandon Wright, Tyler Wallace and wife, Carly, and Trenton Wallace; granddaughters, Kelsi Skipper and Makenzi Skipper; sister, Pam Smith and husband, David, of Fort Worth; brother, Lonnie Yandell and wife, Pat, of Whitney; and numerous other family members and friends.
