Ronald Hugh Kimbell, 79, of Burleson, left this world Friday, March 10, 2017.
He was born Jan. 16, 1938, in Fort Worth, Texas, to Zollie Otis and Mary E. White Kimbell. Ronald grew up in Fort Worth, the youngest of four children, and graduated from Diamond Hill-Jarvis High School in 1957. Soon after, he began working at the Fort Worth Zoo, eventually achieving the position of Curator of Birds, an honorable title which he maintained until his retirement in 1995. His term at the zoo was temporarily interrupted to serve his country, which he proudly did through the U. S. Army. Ronnie never married, and leaves behind no children.
Ronald is preceded in death by his parents; one sister; Clyde Rivers; and two brothers, Joseph and Donald Kimbell.
Survivors include two nephews, Charles Rivers, of Victoria, Texas, and Donald Kimbell, of Alvarado, Texas. He also leaves behind, and will be fondly remembered by, many zoo co-workers and friends whose lives he touched by his kindness and generosity.
