Marvin Lawrence Cartwright, 86, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2018.
A celebration of life service was 1:30 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28, 2018, at First Baptist Church in Burleson. Visitation was from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, 2018, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 S.W. Wilshire Blvd., Joshua, Texas.

Marvin was born Nov. 29, 1931, in Haynesville, Louisiana. He served our nation in the U.S. Navy, built for others as a bricklayer and contractor, but his life was defined as a Man of God, always a witness for the Lord and a helper to others.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Jimmie; son, Scott; five brothers; and four sisters.
Survivors include his daughter, Lynn Basden; grandchildren, Daniel and wife, Amber, Kyle, Simon and Alex Basden, Lyndi Hastings and husband, Murrel, Jacob Cartwright and wife, Vanessa, and Amy Cheek and husband, Casey; and great-grandchildren, Finley, Brody and Keaton Basden, and Lucas Cartwright and Samantha Cheek.
