Gary Lee Alexander, 71, of Burleson, went home to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, July 9, 2016.
There will be a private memorial service for family on Saturday, July 16, 2016.
Gary was born in Yakima, Washington, on Sept. 10, 1944, to F.C. and Marguerite Alexander; the oldest of seven children. He was a loving husband, caring father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
At the University of Texas at Arlington, Gary studied Automotive Engineering and he retired from General Motors after working there for 34 years. He was passionate about fishing, the great outdoors, and music. Gary was inducted into the Texas State Bass Hall of Fame in 2010 and has fished in the Texas State Bass Tournament for 50 years. He loved to sing and play the guitar.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, F.C. and Marguerite Alexander; sister, Marjorie Lynn Alexander; and granddaughter, Autymn Smith.
Survivors include his wife, Irona Alexander; children, Michelle Palomo and husband, Arthur, LeeAnna, Jamie, and Robert Alexander, and his wife, Ashley, and David Smith; grandchildren; Cheryl and Brooklynn Alexander, Frank Calloway “Cal” Alexander, and Noah Escobar; great-grandchild, Koen Kimes; brothers, Grant Alexander and his wife, Merlene, James Alexander and his wife, Doris, David Alexander and his wife, Robyn, and John Alexander and his wife, Becky; sister, Margaret Alexander; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
