Lucila Duran Ramirez, a long-time resident of Everman, Texas, joined her Lord and Savior on Sunday, Oct. 2, 2016, at the age of 82.

Memorial services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 15, 2016, at Cana Baptist Church, 2309 E. Renfro Street, Burleson, Texas. Interment will follow at Skyvue Memorial Gardens, Mansfield, Texas.

Lucila was born Jan. 21, 1934, in Fort Stockton, to Sabino and Caterina Duran. She married Alfredo Galindo Ramirez in Fort Stockton on Oct. 11, 1954. They had five daughters and two sons. Lucy and Alfredo moved to Fort Worth in 1969. They then settled in Everman, Texas, in 1970

Lucy’s most rewarding career was raising seven children. Yet, she still managed to find time to sell homemade pies/cakes, iron neighbor’s clothes or watch neighborhood children. She eventually would take her cooking skills to the local elementary school cafeterias. Lucila started creating her restaurant dreams by making breakfast taquitos in a travel trailer at local city events. With the help of her children, those beginnings turned into Burrito Inn, off Everman Parkway. From there, she would open Lucy’s restaurant in Kennedale, Texas.

During her final years, she had the privilege of living waterfront in South Carolina with her children.

All of her years, Lucy was a follower of Jesus Christ and an amazing prayer warrior, leaving behind a legacy of believers.

Lucila loved her family, classic movies, coffee, and good conversation that included occasionally “resting her eyes.” He was incredibly proud of all of her children.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Alfredo Galindo Ramirez, in 2009.

Survivors include seven children and their spouses, Patricia Yelverton; Rose Woods, Alfredo Ramirez Jr., Martha McCarroll, Mario Ramirez, Natalie Hooper and Terresa Baldwin; 14 grandchildren; and 17 great-grandchildren; and many family members in Fort Worth and Fort Stockton.

“His master said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant. You have been faithful over a little; I will set you over much. Enter into the joy of your master.’ Matthew 25:23 ESV
