MENARD, TEXAS – Billy D. Wall Sr. (Bill), 91, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at home in Menard.
Visitation for friends and family is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Sept. 20, 2017, and the funeral services are Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Both were at Heritage Funeral Home in Menard, Texas.
Bill was a loving, caring and thoughtful father and grandfather. He was born Oct. 12, 1925, in San Angelo, to W. J. Wall and Lilly Dell Wall. Bill grew up in San Angelo and the surrounding countryside. His interests included riding motorcycles (in his younger days), his family, and a small farm with livestock.
He started his career in the newspaper industry at the Standard Times in San Angelo, and then moved to the Fort Worth Star Telegram where he was employed from 1955 to 1981. He then worked full time as co-owner and operator of Wall Feed Store in Burleson, with his wife, Lois, until they retired in 1991. Wall Feed store was still in operation up to this year. Bill was a member of the Masonic lodge in Burleson and Eden for several years and enjoyed time in all the offices.
Bill is preceded in death by his wife, Lois; mother; father; brother; Gene; and daughter-in-law, Cinda Wall.
The oldest of three children, Bill is survived by Gloria Amos; his sister, May Ann Untermeyer; brother-in-law, Dee David White; son, Bill Wall, of Atlanta, Georgia; daughters, Linda Poston and husband, Benny, of Arlington, Texas, and Cathy and husband Dave Nobles of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany Koppels, of Broomfield, Colo., Erika Mamola, of Desoto, Will Conley, of Dallas, Camille Wall, of Boulder, Colo., Rachel Watson, of Eugene, Oregon; and six great-grandchildren.
