James Austin Hughes Jr., 81, of Burleson, passed away Friday, Oct. 12, 2018, in Fort Worth.
His funeral service is 1:00 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, 2018, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home, 3407 Southwest Wilshire Blvd., Joshua, TX 76058, with the graveside service immediately following at Skyvue Memorial Gardens Funeral Home and Cementery, 7220 Rendon Bloodworth Rd., Mansfield, TX 76063. Visitation was 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, 2018, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home.
James was born April 14, 1937, in Texarkana, to James Austin Sr. "Tim" and Anne Gertrude (Taylor) Hughes. He had a lifetime passion for music and photography, and worked as an Electronic Service Tech.
He was preceded in death by his parents, James and Anne Hughes, of Texarkana; son, Brent Stringer, of Porter, Texas; and granddaughter, Maegan Hughes, of Burleson, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl Hughes, of Burleson, Texas; children, Sheila Foucault, of Porter, Texas, J. Michael Hughes and wife, Kayla, of Fort Worth, Texas, and Shannon McClure, of Grandview, Texas; grandchildren, Christina Barrera, of Porter, Texas, Deanna Horstman, of South Dakota, Robin McClure, of Grandview, Texas, Taylor Moseley and husband, Tim, of Camp Pandleton, California, Aria Hughes, of Fort Worth, Texas and Grant Hughes, of Fort Worth, Texas; and five great-grandchildren.
