JERRY JEAN WILKERSON

Jerry Jean Wilkerson, born on July 19, 1931, passed away Wednesday, June 7, 2017, at 8:58 p.m.

The memorial service is 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at Burleson Church of Christ. As per Jean's generous request, her body was given to science.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Alzheimer’s research at alz.org.

Jean loved life and those she shared it with. Sadly, approximately five years ago, she began to lose her freedom, warm personality and vivacious spirit bit by bit as she started her long, hard fought, battle with Alzheimer’s.

Thirty-nine years ago, God gave her husband, Steve, his true love, and this year, on their 37th Anniversary, Steve gave her back to Him.

Jean was preceded in death by her eldest son, Jerry Flanagan; her younger brother, Jay C Bains; and her parents, Clarence and Jearldeen Bains.

Survivors include her husband, Steven Wilkerson; children, Steve Flanagan and wife, Debra, of Fort Worth, and Kay Hartwell and husband, Ware, of British Columbia, Canada; grandchildren, Rachel Fleming and husband, Kyle, of Burleson, Reyna Hayes and husband, Justin, of Franklin Kentucky, and Kendra Hartwell, of British Columbia, Canada; five great-grandchildren, Slater and Sloane Fleming, and Andrew, Jayson and Rosalee Hayes; along with lifelong, cherished friends, Jean and Ken Woosley.

Jan Bussey, 70, passed away peacefully Saturday, July 1, 2017, after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer.
She was a lover of nature and animals, an avid camper and hiker, and a proud mother and grandmother.
Jan was preceded in death by her husband, Gary Bussey; and parents, Robert and Mildred Orr.
She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Bryan Bussey and his wife, Brandy; daughter Laura Bertke and her husband, Beau; four grandchildren, Miranda, Parker, Evan, and Blaine; and a host of other loving relatives and friends.

Kenneth Ira Holinbaugh -son, brother, grandson and friend - died Friday, July 14th, 2017, in Ft Worth, Texas.
A private memorial service and gathering for family and friends will be held at the Church of Christ in Joshua, 110 N. Main St., Joshua, TX 76058, on Saturday, July 22nd at 11:00 a.m. All are welcome.
Kenny was 34 years old when he went to Heaven to be with his father, Ira and his Heavenly Father.  
Born on July 8th, 1983, in Cleburne, Texas, to Ira Holinbaugh and Christine Pool Garmon, Kenny, had a kind heart and loving soul and was known for being easy going, humble, funny, persistent, and a simple man.
He is preceded in death by his father, Ira Holinbaugh; and his maternal grandmother, Sandra Olmstead.
Survivors include his son, Samuel (Sammy) and daughter, Kaitlin; mother, Christine; three younger sisters, Kelly, Kerry and Andrea; his paternal grandfather and grandmother, Gary and Clara Holinbaugh, and his maternal grandfather, Robert Pool; in addition to many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Donald Clint Green, 90, of Burleson, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017.
Funeral services were 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2017, at Cana Baptist Church in Burleson. Burial was 3 p.m. Tuesday at Land of Memory Memorial Park in Palestine, Texas.
Donald was born May 26, 1927, in Neches, Texas, to Ruby and Hattie (Wood) Green. He served in the US Navy during WWII. Donald later served in the USAR/National Guard for 38 years, where he retired as a Colonel. He also retired from Lockheed Martin after 42 years of employment. Donald was faithful in his service to Christ, guardian of his family, and patriot to his country.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Bennie Green, in 2000; wife, Nancy Green, in 2016; and two of his daughters, Kathy and Donna Green.
Survivors include his daughter, Patty Green, of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Matt Douty, of Frisco, and Lauren Dancey, of Boise, Idaho; great-grandson, Ethan Douty, of Fort Worth; daughter-in-love, Dana Johnson and husband, Rent, of Elgin, Texas; three brothers; one sister; numerous nieces and nephews; and loving friends, especially his Cana Baptist Church family.

Glenda Sue Stephens was born Jan. 29, 1947, in Fort Worth, to Woodrow Wilson and Ethel Della (Thompson) Galbreath. She married Les Stephens on Oct. 5, 1963, in Fort Worth.
Mrs. Stephens was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister. She was a legal assistant and was a member of Burleson Church of Christ.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and granddaughter, Kacie Rutledge.
Survivors include her husband, Les Stephens, of Burleson; daughter, Lesley Rutledge and husband, Darren, of California; grandchildren, Chase Barbare, Mathis Rutledge, Garrett Rutledge and Jaden Rutledge; brother, Ronnie Galbreath and wife, Linda, of Joshua; and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

Hattie Faye McCulley, 99, passed away peacefully Sunday, July 16, 2017.

Her ashes will be interred at Restland Cemetary in Roxton, Texas.

She was born in Brookston, Texas, on Jan. 21, 1918, to Bose and Ova McEntyre. Hattie Faye spent her childhood in and around Brookston and Roxton, Texas, where she attended school. She married Raymond McCulley in 1937. Soon afterwards, he served in the Navy during World War II, and she followed him first to San Diego, California, and then to Providence, Rhode Island, during his military career. After the war, they settled in Roxton for twenty two-years. Later, they moved to nearby Paris, Texas. Afterward, they retired to Fort Worth, Texas, and then finally moved to Alvarado, Texas, to be near their daughter, Cathy Tindall.

An exceptionally talented gardener, Hattie Faye loved nature of all types. She loved flowers, and she loved life. Her greatest joy in life was the births of her son, Charles Raymond, and her daughter, Cathy Ann. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was active in many church activities, including teaching, hospitality, and caring for elderly members. She never met a stranger. Finally at rest, she will carry on with the joy, love, and true expertise for gardening in God’s beautiful garden.

Hattie Faye was preceded in death by her loving husband of 72 years, George Raymond McCulley.

Survivors include her son, Charles McCulley and wife, Peggy, of Arlington; daughter, Cathy Tindall, of Alvarado; sister, Helen Merritt, of Paris; grandchildren, Andy Tindall, Emily Burke and Monty McCulley; five great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Susye Faye “Sue” Easter passed away Sunday, July 30, 2017.

Services are Friday, August 4, 2017, at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas. Visitation will be held beginning at 10:00 a.m., followed by a graveside service at 11:00 a.m.

To honor Sue’s great love of animals, memorials may be made to the Dallas Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Dallas Animal Shelter, your local animal shelter, or the animal protection agency of your choice.

She was born on Dec. 20, 1929, in Marfa, Texas. Sue lived in Dallas, Texas, for most of her life. She was a graduate of Crozier Technical High School.

On May 15, 1948, she married James Harley Easter.

Sue began her career in banking, working as a teller for Lockwood National Bank and for Texas Bank and Trust. On Oct. 1, 1970, she went to work for Dallas County and worked as a cashier and, later, was head cashier in the Tax Department. She retired from the County on October 29, 2004.

Ms. Easter was preceeded in death by her parents, Jess and Ava Bayans; a sister, Nelda Ford; and brothers, Billy Joe Bayans and Ray Bayans.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, James H. (Jim) Easter, Jr. and wife, Amy; grandchildren, Kelly McCoy; Adam Chavoya; Rebecca Chavoya and Ethan Chavoya; and great-grandchildren, Mason Orona, Blake Gutierrez, Henry Chavoya, and Tessa Chavoya.

(Bud) Clyde Warren Davis Jr., 80, of Burleson, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, Aug. 10, 2017.

Visitation was 6-9 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 12, 2017, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home. Graveside services are 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 15, 2017, at DFW National Cemetery, in Grand Prairie.

Bud was born Jan. 13, 1937, in Cleburne, to Clyde and Eleanor Davis. He served in the United States Air Force, where he met the love of his life, Linda McNulty, who also served in the Air Force. They married April 26, 1959, in Bono, Texas. Bud worked for Texas Steel for several years. Then he began a 43-year career as an engineer for the Santa Fe Burlington Northern Railroad. He retired in 1999 and enjoyed spending time with family, grand kids, and his dog. Bud loved serving his neighbors with meals and fresh vegetables out of his garden. He and his wife were faithful servants of the Lord and served at Pathway Church, in Burleson.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Eleanor Shelley; step-father, Edgar Shelley; father, Clyde Warren Davis Sr.; step-mother, Francis Davis; younger brother, Tommy Shelley; great-niece, Taylor Mankins; and brother-in-love, Jr. M.G. Powell.

Gozdzialski, Ruby E. (nee Willingham), age 75, of Wentzville, Missouri, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2017. She was the beloved wife of the late Daniel Gozdzialski; cherished daughter of the late Elmer Earl and Evelyn Dale Willingham; devoted mother of Julianna Bills and Leslie Wade Bills; and treasured sister of Virginia Nell Cummings, Mary Evelyn Askey, and the late Olan Youngblood.

Ernest Raymond Ensz, 80, of Burleson, Texas, passed away peacefully, Monday, July 24, 2017.

A private memorial service gathering for family and friends will be held at Laurel Land Funeral Home, 7100 Crowley Road, Fort Worth, Texas, on Sept. 7, 2017, at 11:00 a.m.

Ernest was born June 23, 1937, in Fort Ransom, North Dakota, to Jacob and Lillian Ensz.  He served in the US Air Force from 1957 to 1959.  Ernset married Gloria Borchardt from McClusky, North Dakota, on Dec. 12, 1959.  He was employed by Freight Masters in 1963, then retired from New York Brakes as an electronics tech in 1999.

He and his wife, Gloria, were members of First Baptist Church and Cana Baptist Church, in Burleson.

Survivors include his wife, Gloria, of Burleson; three daughters, Melody and Steve Carpenter, of Dell City, Texas, Dawn McVicar of Fort Worth, Texas, and Sherrie and Scott Black, of Burleson, Texas; grandchildren, Austin Black and wife, Nikki, and Allie Black; and great-grandchildren, Jade and Harper, of Burleson, Texas.

Brandon Joaquin Zachry, of Burleson, passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017. He was born Nov. 16, 1970, to Randol and Jan Zachry.

Services are 2 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 9, 2017, at First United Methodist Church, of Joshua. Interment is 11 a.m. Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, at DFW National Cemetery.

Brandon was a loving husband, father, and friend, who loved his God and his country. He also loved learning, woodworking, leather working and shooting guns.

He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army as a tank driver and infantry officer. Brandon was a veteran of Desert Storm. He loved doing charity work, especially with Operation Blessing in Cleburne.

Survivors include his wife, Celeste Zachry, of Burleson; daughters, Kirsten Zachry and Britton Zachry; brothers, Mark Zachry and wife, Tiffany, of Seattle, and Ryan Zachry and wife, Kate, of Eagle River, Alaska; parents, Randol and Jan Zachry, of Seattle; brothers-in-law, Bryan Hill and wife, Melissa, of Aledo, Texas, and Jarrett Hill and wife, Cecila, of Fort Worth; in-laws, Joe and Viva Hill, of Fort Worth; goddaughter, Katie Laman, of Austin; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Michael D. Burns, 68, of Cleburne, passed away Sunday, Sept. 3, 2017, in Fort Worth.

Services were 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 6, 2017, in the First Baptist Church of Cleburne. Dr. Danny Crosby and Dr. Steve Mullen officiated. Burial followed in Baker-Lain Cemetery. Pallbearers were Justin Campbell, Bobby Horton, Greg Fletcher, Jason Finch, Mike Campbell, Danny Wallace and Richard Jackson. Visitation was 6-8:00 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 5, 2017, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Michael D. Burns was born June 17, 1949, in Corpus Christi, Texas. He married Deborah Kay Cheek on March 1, 1969, in Corpus Christi.

Mr. Burns served his country in the United States Army. He was a plant manager at Texas Lime Plant, retiring with over 16 years of service. Michael was a member of New Hope Baptist Church, the Masonic Lodge No. 315, York Rite and Knights Templar. He was a family man first. He lived to serve others and delighted in his family. He was an avid golfer, a fisherman and the best husband, dad and granddad you could imagine.

He was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Juanita Cheek.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 48 years, Debbie Burns, of Cleburne; sons, DeWayne Burns and wife, Jennifer, and Jeffrey Burns, all of Cleburne; three grandchildren, Parker Burns, Austin Burns and Emma Burns, all of Cleburne; brothers, Danny Wallace and wife, Carla, and Richard Jackson and wife, Diane, all of Corpus Christi; parents, Jack and Jackie Jackson of Corpus Christi; father-in-law, Grady Cheek; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

David Wilburn Sharp, 92, of Burleson, Texas, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2017, in Edmond, Okla.

A memorial service was held at 10 a.m., Saturday, Sept. 2, 2017, at Lucas and Blessing Funeral Home in Burleson, Texas. Military funeral honors and interment were performed at 2 p.m. Saturday at Waco Memorial Park, 6623 Interstate 35 S., Robinson, Texas.

David was born in Waco, Texas, on Feb. 25, 1925. He served in the Army Air Corps during WWII. After the war he earned a BS degree from Texas A&M College in accounting and a regular commission in the U.S. Air Force in May of 1949. He retired to Burleson after 30 years active duty as a lieutenant colonel, USAF on July 31, 1976. After retiring to Burleson, he worked at Aerospatiale Helicopter Corporation for 11 years as a senior contracts administrator.  He retired in July 31, 1991.He always enjoyed beekeeping and was known locally as the "honey man" after his hand painted road signs.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Homer D. and Lois B. Sharp; and a brother, Wayland Sharp.

Survivors include his wife of 54 years, June Oliver; a sister, Mary Leigh, of The Woodlands; one son, Colonel (ret.) Brett Sharp and wife, Paula; three daughters, Suellen DeMay and husband, Brian, of Palatine, Il.; Meghan Sharp and husband, Lin Chen, of San Francisco, Calif.; Elspeth Sharp, and Chris Moore, of Austin; and six grandchildren, Jack DeMay, Mason DeMay, Noah Sharp, Rachel Sharp, Katherine Chen and Samantha Chen.

Hoot Adams left to be with his Lord Jesus on Sunday Sept. 17, 2017. He will be greatly missed.

In lieu of services, there will be a casual remembrance at Odessa Tabernacle Church on Wednesday, Sept. 20, 2017, from 1-3 p.m. Come and go as you like.

The family feels the best way to honor Hoot is by an unexpected act of kindness or generosity for someone in need.

Hoot was employed by Occidental Petroleum as a Senior Well Maintenance Technical Adviser and enjoyed the challenges of the oilfield, while helping others achieve their goals.

He enjoyed movies, fishing, and being outdoors.

He was married to the love of his life Cindy Adams for 43 years, and blessed with three wonderful children, daughters, Jennifer Rathbun and husband, Aaron, and Jaclyn Ross and husband; Michael; and son, Jefferey Adams. He cherished the moments spent with his five grandchildren, Linsey Ross, Lauren Ross, Madalyn Ross, Hoot Rathbun, & Alyssa Rathbun. He is also survived by his sweet sister, Treon Johnson, husband, Glenn.

Alvarado- Tony Ray Winnegar, 51, passed away Sunday, Sept. 10, 2017, at his home in Alvarado.

A private family memorial service will be held at a later time.

Tony was born April 10, 1966, in Arlington, to Max Duane and Josephine Muscanere Winnegar. He attended Alvarado High School and Mansfield High School. Tony loved the outdoors and, for many years, owned and operated a landscaping business, specializing in tree service.  Tony also worked as a lab tech for Texas Industries, Inc.

He loved people, especially his family, and is remembered by family and friends for his laughter and fun-loving sense of humor. Tony felt a genuine care and concern for others; and those who knew him were touched by his kindness.  He will be missed by all.

Tony now has the peace that we are all promised, God’s peace.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Joey Winnegar; and a niece, Courtney Arnold.

Survivors include his parents; daughter, Cassidy Winnegar; sisters, Lucretia Hicks and husband, Glen, and Gina Walsh and husband, Bobby; grandson, Josiah Winnegar; several nieces and nephews; and many friends.

MENARD, TEXAS – Billy D. Wall Sr. (Bill), 91, died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, at home in Menard.

Visitation for friends and family is from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, the Sept. 20, 2017, and the funeral services are Thursday, Sept. 21, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. Both were at Heritage Funeral Home in Menard, Texas.

Bill was a loving, caring and thoughtful father and grandfather. He was born Oct. 12, 1925, in San Angelo, to W. J. Wall and Lilly Dell Wall.  Bill grew up in San Angelo and the surrounding countryside.  His interests included riding motorcycles (in his younger days), his family, and a small farm with livestock.

He started his career in the newspaper industry at the Standard Times in San Angelo, and then moved to the Fort Worth Star Telegram where he was employed from 1955 to 1981. He then worked full time as co-owner and operator of Wall Feed Store in Burleson, with his wife, Lois, until they retired in 1991. Wall Feed store was still in operation up to this year. Bill was a member of the Masonic lodge in Burleson and Eden for several years and enjoyed time in all the offices.

The oldest of three children, Bill is survived by Gloria Amos; his sister, May Ann Untermeyer; brother-in-law, Dee David White; son, Bill Wall, of Atlanta, Georgia; daughters, Linda Poston and husband, Benny, of Arlington, Texas, and Cathy and husband Dave Nobles of Plano, Texas; grandchildren, Tiffany Koppels, of Broomfield, Colo., Erika Mamola, of Desoto, Will Conley, of Dallas, Camille Wall, of Boulder, Colo., Rachel Watson, of Eugene, Oregon; and six great-grandchildren.

Ray Lynn West, 60, of Burleson, went to be with the Lord early Tuesday morning, Sept. 26, 2017.

Funeral services are 2 p.m. Friday, Sept. 29, 2017, at Mountain Valley Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow the service at Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 28, 2017, at the funeral home.

Ray was born Dec. 26, 1956, in Cleburne, to Raymond and Mickey West. He was a wonderful husband and dedicated son, father, grandfather, and friend.

Survivors include his parents, Raymond and Mickey West; wife, Angie West; daughter, Megan West; son, Austin West; grandson, Logan; brother, Terry West and wife, Cathy; and many other loving nieces, nephews, co-workers, and friends.
